California ACTRA Finals will be in Angels Camp This Year!
The California ACTRA Board has decided to move the Chapter Finals from Catheys Valley-Coyote Springs Ranch, to Angels Camp. Due to several issues at the Coyote Springs Ranch, mostly involving county permits, the Board felt it was in the best interest of the association to move the Finals.
The Board had several venues to consider. Each with their set of issues and concerns. In the end the Board felt that the majority of Members would be happy going back to Angels Camp. There were several issues to address with pens and cost of the facility being the primary issues. Bob Blair contacted Mike Spradley about transporting the panels from King City, while Mike Sweeney contacted Earl Escobar about the availability of the panels.
While Bob and Mike were working on this, Lauri Giannini was working on cutting the cost of the facility. After several days of calling and negotiating, the deal was made. We will have 300 pens, a great facility and a great community that wants us there. All at a price that will be affordable for our Members. Get ready for another great Finals at Angeles Camp!
We need to Thank Lauri Giannini and the staff at Angels Camp for putting everything together at a very attractive rate. A big Thank You to Mike Spradley for helping us out with the trucking on the panels. Another Thank You to Earl Escobar from King City for making the panels available. Thank You to Steve Simons for making the 2nd arena available at a very fair price.

General information on qualifying for the Chapter Finals.
The last day to join for the 2008 season is July 15th, 2008. The last day to qualify for the Finals is Labor Day weekend, Monday September 1st, 2008. You need 10 Member Only (Premier) ropings in to qualify.
If you do not see yourself in the standings on the web page or feel there is an error in your points, please call the California office @ 559-564-8832 and let us research to see if there is a problem. Please do not wait until it gets close to September to notify us if you think there is a problem.

Remember your 2008 Membership expires on October 31st, 2008 and the ACTRA new year begins again on November 1st, 2008. If you join on or before November 1st your points will be retroactive back to September 2nd, 2008, not counting any of the Finals. You can join for next year starting on July 16th, 2008.
