Meet our National Sponsors
ACTRA National President Bob Blair Travels to Las Vegas
Newly elected National President Bob Blair along with ACTRA Business Manager Mike Sweeney spent a few days in Las Vegas meeting with ACTRA Sponsors and visiting with some new potential Sponsors.
Bob and Mike spent time with several of the Sponsors talking about how they felt things were going and what they would like to see in the up-coming year. All the Sponsors were very happy with the partnership with ACTRA and are looking forward to the new-year.
We sat down with Robert Lever and Mike Conley of Wrangler and ordered the Patriot shirts for next year’s ACTRA National Finals. This has been a very successful program for ACTRA and Wrangler.
They also had some great conversations with Mike Piland of Cactus Ropes, Al Benson of Fastback Ropes and Cherie Gilliam and Tony Wilson of Cactus Saddlery. Chip Bruegman of Heel O Matic offered up some new products for the 2015 year.
We made a trip to the South Point and met up with Dustin Noblitt C.O.O. of Pro Equine and Ricky Boland of Resistol Hats. Both Dustin and Ricky were very happy with the way things were going and they too were looking forward to the new-year.
While at the South Point we met with Jeremy Gordon and Tim Waldron of Royal T Trailers. They will be putting in a bid for the up-coming year or year’s. Royal T Trailers has been a Major Sponsor of the Wrangler Patriot Roping for years providing the Championship Trailers.
The trip would not have been complete without a visit to the folks of Professional’s Choice. Low and behold who did we find working the booth but Monty Crist. Their booth was quite busy, but Lisa and Jake found time to talk about next year’s contestant awards and have come up with a great award that will be presented at the National Board meeting in January.
One of the new programs that ACTRA introduced last year was the National Finals and Chapter magazine featuring all the Sponsors. Benjie Lemon from Spin to Win Rodeo sat down with us and talked about ways to improve the program.
The trip was very fast paced but a stop by the Orleans Casino was a must. This year the Orleans has started having ropings and could be in ACTRA’s future as a possible venue for the Southwest Championships.
Bob is very excited to get things started and can’t wait for the National meeting in January.
